This beautiful picture of Lord Ganesh is mounted on a hardwood base, and has a hook ready to hang on your wall. It measures 19" tall by 14" wide. Lord Ganesh (Ganesha) the elephant headed god, is one of the most beloved of all the Hindu Gods, because of his friendly and playful nature. Ganesh is the son of Shiva and Parvati. His elephant head represents his immense wisdom. He is the god of good fortune, knowledge and learning, and he is considered the remover of obstacles. He is invoked for good luck when any new endeavor is undertaken. Ganesh is depicted with four arms, and is shown joyfully dancing and playing a drum. One of Ganesh’s tusks is broken, because he broke it off in order to transcribe the great Hindu epic, the Mahabharata, for the benefit of mankind. He is often depicted as riding a mouse which represents both his great humility, and also the ability of the intellect to find out anything even if it is hidden in a remote hard to reach place.
