This picture of Lord Ganesh is mounted on a hardwood base, and has a hook ready to hang on your wall. It measures 19" tall by 14" wide.Lord Ganesh (Ganesha) the elephant headed god, is one of the most beloved of all the Hindu Gods, because of his friendly and playful nature. Ganesh is the son of Shiva and Parvati. His elephant head represents his immense wisdom. He is the god of good fortune, knowledge and learning, and he is considered the remover of obstacles. He is invoked for good luck when any new endeavor is undertaken. Ganesh is depicted with four arms, and is often depicted carrying various objects including: an axe representing his ability to severe our attachment to material desires, Shiva's Trident, and sweets or fruits. One of Ganesh’s tusks is broken, because he broke it off in order to transcribe the great Hindu epic, the Mahabharata, for the benefit of mankind.
